Hello there! I'm excited to share a glimpse into my life with you. I'm a mother of two incredible children, a business owner of a diversity-owned company, and a flight attendant living a full life with Follicular B Cell Lymphoma. As I turn 50 this year, I am eagerly anticipating the prime of my life and all the exciting experiences yet to come.

Being a mother of two incredible adults has been the most rewarding and fulfilling role in my life. Watching my kids grow and thrive has been my best life achievement. They are now my best friends and I enjoy this stage of our relationship.  Now that they are out of college and living their own adult lives, it is time for me to start the third phase of my life.  You know, the good one that comes after our 'growing up and single' phase, then our 'momming' phase.

As a business owner, I have certified my busienss as a Women Owned Business and Disadvanted Business Enterprise in the construction industry.  I have owned my own business for over 20 years and have enjoyed the freedom that being a business owner has allowed me.  I am something of a serial entrepreneur.  I have owned a construction company, a tile and granite store, a yoga studio and more.

Beyond my professional endeavors, my passion for excitement and change has led me to the skies as a flight attendant.  I have always wanted to be a flight attendant and now that my kids have grown and flown the nest, so can I.  Besides the travel, I enjoy having an entirely different career at this point in life with new friends and experiences.

​

On a more personal note, I am also living my battle against Follicular B Cell Lymphoma. This journey has undoubtedly shaped my perspective on life, highlighting the importance of gratitude, resilience, and cherishing every precious moment. I certainly haven't mastered life living with lymphoma but I am learning more every single day. This is the time to live life to the fullest on my terms!  If you want a wake up call to live life to it's fullest, cancer will certainly do that for you!

As I turn 50, I am excitedly looking forward to this third phase of my life.

Life after raising your children is an incredible chance to create the best moments yet. Embrace the new chapter, unleash your passions, and savor the limitless possibilities that await you!

Remember, this is just the beginning. It's time to color outside the lines and live life on your terms. Get ready to have the time of your life!  It's a time for self-discovery, self-care, and embracing the wisdom that comes with age. I am determined to make the most of this phase, living how I want I to live while pursuing my passions ,experiences and adventures with fervor and a lot of laughs.

Through this podcast, "Starting at 50: Empowering Women in Our Prime," I aim to uplift and encourage other women who are embarking on their own journeys in their 40s and 50s. Together, we will explore topics such as health, personal and business relationships, what motherhood looks like now, and finding fulfillment amidst life's challenges. I hope to inspire, support, and empower you to embrace your own journey and live your best life in what is now our time and our prime.
